Georgia Tech salvaged game 3 in the series finale, to avoid sweep against uga.

After a two hour and twenty minute rain delay on this past Friday night, the Yellow Jackets would go on to lose 7-2 against uga. It wasn’t a pleasant game all-around and the momentum was just not there, unfortunately. It’s also tough to not win game one of the three-game series.

Then Saturday afternoon came. In front of a sold-out Russ Chandler Stadium crowd, the Yellow Jackets needed some type of spark to even out the series with the Bulldogs. Unfortunately it only got worse on Saturday. Georgia came out swinging and beat Georgia Tech 16-6. It was a rough day for pitching and hitting for the Yellow Jackets.

Well, game three came upon the Yellow Jackets and they needed life. After two straight games of heartache, Georgia Tech managed to salvage the series finale, by a final score of 4-1. They’re now 10-2 and will host Lipscomb this Tuesday evening at 4pm.

On the mound today for the Yellow Jackets, RHP Jackson Finley pitched for 4.0 innings. Finley gave up just one run on two hits, while also walking just two batters and striking out four batters. In relief, RHP Ben King pitched for 3.0 innings, King gave up just two hits and struck out three batters.

King then handed the ball over to none other than RHP Terry Busse. Terry came in for his fifth save of the season. Busse pitched for 2.0 innings, walking one batter, but striking out five batters altogether. Scary Terry continues to lead the nation in saves and has an era of 0.00. This guy is as real as they come.

At the plate, Angelo Dispigna led the way with scoring two runs, right after Nico Senese hit a single, Jett Lovett walked, and lastly Jake DeLeo had reached by a fielders choice. No out was recorded during that time.

Drew Compton made an appearance at DH. For his first at-bat since being back from an injury, Compton drew a bases-loaded RBI. Towards the end, Nicholas Romano added a run on for insurance, as he scored Jack Rubenstein as well.

Jake DeLeo, Jack Rubenstein, and Jackson Finley each had a few hits apiece, on the day today.

Georgia Tech will now rest up, before yet, another busy week. They will host Lipscomb on this upcoming Tuesday night. First pitch is scheduled for 4pm and will be broadcast live on the ACC Network Extra.

The Yellow Jackets will then open up with ACC play, as the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame will be making a trip to Atlanta, Ga for a three-game series this weekend. First pitch is scheduled for this Friday night at 6pm.
