Second consecutive sweep complete, as Georgia Tech defeats Tennessee Tech in the series finale.

What a weekend for the Yellow Jackets. 3 games and 3 wins, to move onto 7-0 on the year so far. Georgia Tech scored 33 runs altogether on the weekend and held the Golden Eagles to just 14 runs.

It was an incredible effort all weekend from the bullpen and the hitters. The pitching staff overall was very solid and these guys really had some clutch hits, when they needed it the most.

At the plate, Jack Rubenstein led the way going 5-for-5 with an RBI and scored a run. Also contributing, Jackson Finley went 3-for-5 on the day, as he hit a three-run home-run. Angelo Dispigna had 2 hits and scored 2 runs. While Jake DeLeo had 2 hits and scored runs, and Nico Sienese had two hits on the day as well.

To have this young squad that lost a pretty good bit of talent from last year’s team, score as many runs as they have this weekend, just speaks volumes with what this coaching staff is doing and how they are coaching them up. It’s impressive and gives fans a lot of hope for the rest of the season.

Starting on the mound today, RHP Jackson Finley pitched for 4.0 innings, giving up five runs on six hits, while walking one batter and striking out two batters. In relief, LHP Josiah Siegel came in and pitched for 1.2 innings, giving up two hits, walking two batters, and striking out 1 batter.

Siegel then handed the ball over to RHP Ben King. King pitched for 1.1 innings, giving up no runs, while striking out two batters. King then handed the ball over to LHP Noah Samol, who went 1.0 innings, giving up two runs on one hit. To close, Jackson Vaughan pitched the last 1.0 innings. Vaughan gave up just one hit and one walk, but was able to shut the inning down, to seal the win.

Georgia Tech will now look to their first of two mid-week games, this one against the Long Island Sharks this Tuesday evening. The Yellow Jackets will look to keep the win-streak alive. First pitch is scheduled for 4pm and can be listened to at 91.1 FM.

  1. I continue to receive emails regarding Georgia Tech INSTEAD OF TEXAS TECH! I previously reported this and was told it would be corrected … but has not as I received another Georgia Tech article this morning. PLEASE CORRECT YOUR MISTAKE AS PROMISED!

ONCE AGAIN … PLEASE SEND TEXAS TECH ARTICLES … not Georgia tech articles!
    Thanks, Ken Furman
