After an exciting 12-3 win over the Golden Eagles yesterday, Georgia Tech would come back to try and win their second straight series of the year. Though a 4-0 lead for Tennessee Tech seemed so far-fetched, the Yellow Jackets ran away with the win, after coming back later in the game.
On the mound, starting RHP Logan McGuire had a rough outing today, due to injury, that led towards the 4-0 start for the Golden Eagles. McGuire went just 1.1 innings, giving up three runs on just one hit, striking out three batters, and walking four.
In relief, RHP Aeden Finateri went 4.2 innings, giving up just one run on three hits and striking out four batters. Then LHP Cody Carwile came in for just 1.1 innings and walked one batter, but shut the whole inning down. To close, RHP Terry Busse came in for 2.0 innings and gave up no hits, no runs, while striking out three batters, for the win.
At the plate, Jake DeLeo went 2-for-4 today with a double and scored a run, while Nicholas Romano went 2-for-4, scoring a run as well. Also contributing, Angelo Dispigna hit a two-run home-run in the bottom of the eight that gave the Yellow Jackets some insurance. Tyler Minnick also had a big-time hit that would score another run, in a big spot. Then Jack Rubenstein would come in to pinch hit and immediately hit a three-run home-run bomb. That would put the score at 10-4 and nail the game down for Georgia Tech.
The Yellow Jackets will now look to complete another series sweep tomorrow, as the series finale will be played at 1pm and will be broadcast live on the ACC Network Extra and can be listened to, at 91.1 FM.
