Georgia Tech keeps rolling with win over Campbell to advance

After defeating the Alabama State Hornets yesterday afternoon, the Yellow Jackets avoided the elimination and would then move on to face the Campbell Camels for yet another elimination game.

On the mound, starter RHP Marquis Grissom Jr dealt for 2.2 innings; Grissom gave up 4 runs on 4 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 2 batters. In relief, the Yellow Jackets once again only used 1 pitcher. LHP Josiah Siegel pitched a career-high 6.1 innings. Siegel gave up just 2 runs on 3 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 2 batters.

At the plate, Chandler Simpson led the way going 5-for-6 with 2 RBI. Also contributing, Tim Borden went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI, along with a solo shot. Also, Colin hall went 2-for-3, along with Tres Gonzalez going 2-for-5. Lastly, Kevin Parada went 1-for-3 with 3 RBI. Andrew Jenkins also drove in 3 RBI by way of 2 sac flies and an RBI single.

Georgia Tech will now have a chance to face the #1 seed, as they take on the Tennessee Volunteers tonight.

First pitch is set for 7:06 pm and will be broadcast live on ESPNU and WREK 91.1 FM.
