After beating Akron by a final score of 12-0 on Monday night, Georgia Tech headed 30 minutes up the road to Kent, Ohio to take on the Kent State Golden Flashes.
At the plate, Andrew Jenkins and Stephen Reid both had a terrific night. Jenkins smashed a home-run for his 3rd straight game and it was also his 4th of the last 5. While Reid homered to make it 4 home runs in the last 3 games.
Also contributing at the plate, Chandler Simpson and Jadyn Jackson each had multiple hits apiece.
On the mound, starter RHP Chance Huff went 4 innings; Huff gave up just 2 runs on 1 hit and struck out 5 batters. In relief, RHP Aeden Finateri, LHP Sam Crawford, and LHP Camron Hill combined allowed just 1 run over the next 4 innings. RHP Cameron Clines allowed 2 runs in his 9th inning appearance, but was still able to close it out and get the win for the Yellow Jackets.
These 2 straight wins were exactly what the Yellow Jackets needed to be able to kick off this road trip and last stretch of the regular season in a positive direction.
Georgia Tech will now head up the road just 90 minutes to Pittsburgh, as they will take on the Panthers this Thursday-Saturday for their last regular season series of the year.
First pitches are scheduled for 6 pm, 6 pm, and 1 pm. Each game will be broadcast live on the ACC Network Extra and WREK 91.1 FM.
