After taking 2/3 games against #13 Florida State, Georgia Tech welcomed in the Georgia State Panthers to Russ Chandler Stadium for a little midweek action.
After already beating Georgia State 4-2 earlier in the year, the Yellow Jackets were looking to sweep the midweek series against the Panthers. Unfortunately, they were unable to do so. Georgia State has now tied the series up 1-1 for the season.
On the mound, starter LHP Camron Hill went 3 innings; Hill received the loss, giving up 3 runs on 4 hits in just his first collegiate start. In relief, LHP Sam Crawford, RHP Dawson Brown, and RHP Aeden Finateri were phenomenal. Combined they allowed just 1 run in the final 5.2 innings of play.
At the plate, Colin Hall led the way with 2 hits and a homerun. Tim Borden II also belted a homerun for 2 runs; while Jadyn Jackson, Chandler Simpson, and Andrew Jenkins each finished with 2 hits apiece, in addition with Jackson driving in 1 run.
The Yellow Jackets are now 21-13 (7-8 in the ACC) and will look to add some more wins to that ACC record, starting this Friday.
Georgia Tech will now head up the road to Chapel Hill this weekend. They will have a little challenge, as they face the North Carolina Tar Heels for a little Coastal Division action.
First pitches are scheduled for 6pm, 2pm, and 1pm. They will each be broadcast live on ACC Network Extra and WREK 91.1 FM.
