After a not so great weekend at NC State, the Yellow Jackets returned home as they welcomed in the Charleston Southern Buccaneers to Russ Chandler Stadium.
Georgia Tech had a total of 17 runs on 13 hits with 1 error, while Charleston Southern had 3 runs on 6 hits and committed 1 error as well.
Starting on the mound, RHP Logan McGuire got his first collegiate start. He pitched 3 innings; McGuire gave up just 1 run on 3 hits, and struck out 1 batter. In relief, LHP Camron Hill pitched 2.0 innings; Hill gave up just 1 hit and also struck out 1 batter. Following Camron, RHP Cort Roedig came in. Roedig pitched 1.0 innings, giving up 2 runs on 2 hits and committing 1 error. LHP Sam Crawford and RHP Cole McNamee also had a part in closing the game out to secure the win for the Yellow Jackets.
At the plate, Kevin Parada led the way with 2 home runs and 6 RBI. Also contributing on the night, Drew Compton had a 3-for-3 night, with 1 home run and 3 RBI. Colin Hall hit his 4th triple and Stephen Reid went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Tres Gonzalez and Bradley Frye both drove in 2 runs each as well.
The Yellow Jackets put up an impressive 17 runs and only needed just 7 innings to seal the victory. It was a tremendous comeback after a tough weekend in Raleigh.
Georgia Tech will now head up the road to Charlottesville as they take on #4 Virginia on April 1-3. First pitches are scheduled for 6pm, 4pm, and 1pm.
