On Monday, Mar. 7, Perfect Game released their Top 25 after Week 3 of the college baseball season.
Texas remained at the top of the rankings despite suffering their first loss of the season to UCLA on Sunday at the Shriners Classic. Regardless of their no longer undefeated record, Perfect Game reaffirmed that their opinion remains that “the Longhorns are solidly the top team in the nation at this moment.”
The rest of their Top 25 are as follows.
- Texas
- Vanderbilt
- Notre Dame
- Stanford
- Ole Miss
- Tennessee
- Georgia Tech
- Oklahoma State
- Oregon State
- LSU
- Arkansas
- Liberty
- UCLA
- Florida State
- TCU

- North Carolina
- Arizona
- Tulane
- Virginia

Considerable differences between the Perfect Game Top 25 and other major rankings include the placement of Vanderbilt and Arkansas.
Perfect Game has Vanderbilt ranked 2nd in the nation, substantially higher than other national polls such as D1 Baseball and Baseball America which have the Commodore’s ranked as 5th and 7th, respectively. PG cites Vanderbilt’s 5-0 Week 3 as their reasoning for the 2nd place slot.
As for Arkansas, while D1 Baseball, Baseball America, and the USA Today Baseball Coaches Poll all have the Razorbacks in their top 10, Perfect Game placed Arkansas at 11th in their standings, failing to mention them in their analysis.
As the season continues, it will be interesting to see how these differences in rankings between national polls play out.
