Ole Miss Football DE Lights Up the College Baseball Internet

Tywone Malone. Everybody in Oxford already knew who the 4 star Defensive End out of Bergen Catholic (NJ) was before Sunday. Apparently, nobody else did. The 310 pound behemoth of a man also happens to be on the Ole Miss baseball roster. While pinch hitting for America’s darling 1st Baseman, Tim Elko, Malone hit an unconventional walk-off home run. His 404 foot opposite field jack was enough to put the Rebels so far in front of the VCU Rams that the run rule was invoked and the game was over.

I personally have been sent videos of the home run about 70 times (as if I hadn’t watched it live). The attention Tywone The Tank is getting across the internet right now definitely warrants its own appreciation post. Here are my favorite tweets regarding Malone’s moonshot on Sunday:

And of course, in addition to all the love he has gotten on Twitter, he has gotten plenty of news outlets to cover him as well. USA Today, MSN, Bro Bible, and even Golf Digest had to weigh in. MLB.com took notice as well. Here is a link to what they had to say about the dinger:
