East Carolina and Duke Clash in Midweek

East Carolina and Duke meet in Durham, North Carolina for an early-season midweek matchup on Tuesday. East Carolina is 2-5 after being swept by Bryant on opening weekend. They bounced back after the sweep to beat Campbell but then lost two out of three to North Carolina last weekend. Duke is 4-3 and also hopes to bounce back from a sub-.500 weekend after losing two out of three to Baylor.

Both offenses are off to a slow start, with ECU hitting .225 as a team and Duke hitting .240. Duke has the advantage in almost every offensive category including doubles, home runs, and RBIs. The Pirates, on the other hand, have the advantage in almost every pitching/defensive category. They have a lower ERA, fewer hits allowed, and ten fewer runs allowed.

First pitch is set for 4 p.m. at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, North Carolina. The game will be available on ACCNX.

ECU sends RHP Nick Logusch (0-1, 6.75) to the mound and will be opposed by RHP Cooper Stinson (0-0, 9.00) for Duke. Logusch is making his first career start and has allowed only one earned run in one-and-a-third innings pitched while Stinson has given up four earned in four innings pitched.
