#6 Stanford and Lousiana Meet in the First Game of the Round Rock Classic

The Cardinal and Ragin Cajuns are both on the road this weekend at Dell Diamond in Round Rock, Texas for the Karbach Round Rock Classic. The teams open against one another on Friday, February 25th at 1 p.m. ET. This will be the first matchup between the two programs.

Stanford is 3-1 to begin the year after taking two out of three from Cal State Fullerton last weekend and blanking Santa Clara, 5-0 in their only midweek contest. The Cardinal will start 6’3 righty Alex Williams, who picked up the win against Fullerton last Friday. The senior California native started their opening contest, throwing three shutout innings allowing only two hits. He is 16-4 with a 2.58 ERA in 30 appearances over his career.

Lousiana is also 3-1 to open 2022. The Ragin Cajuns lost their opener, but took two out of three from UC Irvine last weekend and beat Southeastern Louisiana 6-5 on Tuesday. RHP Tommy Ray will oppose Williams for Louisiana. The community college transfer pitched four innings of shutout baseball and struck out five in their loss to Irvine last Friday.
