Sunday, the LSU Tigers completed a three-game series with the Maine Black Bears by sweeping the weekend in coach Jay Johnson’s debut on the Bayou.
Johnson, tagged with replacing the legendary Paul Mainieri, wasted no time getting the Tigers’ bats going.
LSU plated 51 runs on the weekend, a program record for opening weekend.
The Tigers’ previous record stood at 45 runs back in 1996 against Western Kentucky.
