Yellow Jackets used a seventh inning rally to go ahead from being down 6-2. They came all the way back to win by a final score of 7-6.
Jake DeLeo started the rally with a double and then Luke Waddell knocked him in on a single to right center. Tres Gonzalez then walked to put two on with two out. Justyn-Henry Malloy then hit a two-out blast to right center and knocked in another run, also putting runners at the corners. Andrew Jenkins battled for eight pitches that then turned into a walk to load the bases. Stephen Reid and Drew Compton then both hit back to back singles to finish the comeback.
Stephen Reid went 3-for-4 on the day. While Andrew Jenkins, Justyn-Henry Malloy, and Tres Gonzalez all had two hits apiece.
On the mound for Georgia Tech, LHP Josiah Siegel got the win after coming in with two on and one out. He had to only throw two pitches to get the double play they needed to avoid anymore danger. Follow Josiah, LHP Luke Bartnicki came in and worked two shutout innings. He gave up just two hits and struck out three for his seventh save of the season.
The Sycamores were led by Grant Magill behind the plate. He had two hits and four RBI. Starting pitcher for Indiana State, RHP Connor Fenlong received the loss. He gave up one run on three hits in just 1.1 innings of work.
Georgia Tech will play the 1-0 game on Saturday, June 5th and will face Vanderbilt at 7PM.
