The Cardinals are coming off a weekend to forget where they got swept by North Carolina and only scored six runs total. They would score 8 on Tuesday in an 8-6 win over USC Upstate.
Luke Brown was the shining star of the game, going 4-4 with 3 RBIs and a stolen base. He came into the game with a .320 batting average.
The Cardinals jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 2nd on an RBI groundout to first, but Upstate rebounded quickly in the third on an RBI double to tie and an RBI groundout to take a 2-1 lead.
The back ‘n forth would continue in the bottom half of the third. Luke Brown would double in a run and then score himself on a two run homerun. 4-2 Cards.
Upstate gets one back in the 4th on an RBI single, but can’t tie it up. Cards would score 1 in the bottom half on another Brown RBI double. 5-3.
Louisville would add two more in the 7th. 7-3 Cards.
Upstate would make a valiant effort in the 8th and 9th, cutting the lead to 8-6 in the 9th, but that would be all they could muster and they fall short.
