LSU defeated South Carolina in the second game of the day in Tuscaloosa by a score of 7-3
LSU got off to a hot start in the first with two infield hits and a sac fly by Amanda Doyle making it 1-0 LSU.
LSU would add more in the 4th on a bang bang obstruction call / error making it 2-0. A wild pitch would make it 3-0.
An RBI single in the 5th by Savannah Stewart would make it 4-0 in favor of the Tigers. Pitcher Shelby Sunsari would follow that up with a roper to left making it 5-0 LSU.
South Carolina would not go down without a fight however, in the top of the 5th Katie Prebble hit a 3 run homer to left center to cut the score to 5-3 LSU.
LSU would add 2 more in the bottom of the 6th on a Georgia Clark single that would make it 6-3 followed by a hit by Raeleen Gutierrez to make it 7-3 LSU. That would be the last score of the game as LSU would hang on to win 7-3.
LSU will now face Missouri tomorrow in the second game of the day, while South Carolina will wait until Sunday to see if they get their name called for a regional.
