Georgia Tech faced off in the crosstown matchup, as they took down the Georgia State Panthers by a final score of 7-2 on Tuesday night.
Starting on the mound for the Yellow Jackets, LHP Josiah Siegel pitched three innings, giving up just a two run homer and striking out four. Coming in to relieve, RHP Dawson Brown recorded his first career win after pitching a scoreless inning. To finish, RHP John Medich and RHP Chance Huff both had a combined eight strikeouts and just two hits given up in five innings. Chance Huff also recorded his first career save at Tech.
At the plate, the Jackets scored four runs in the fifth inning to go ahead by walks, RBI single from Stephen Reid and able to score two more runs by balks. Then Tres Gonzalez lined one up the middle to score two more runs that sealed the deal. Also worth noting, Jake Holland had an RBI triple that eventually turned into another run.
Georgia Tech finally returns home and will host #17 Florida State this weekend. First pitches are scheduled for 7:30 PM, 4:00 PM, and 1 PM. Those games will be broadcast live on ACC Network Extra and WREK 91.1 FM.
