Alabama stayed hot on Tuesday with a 19-3 win over in-state foe Samford.
For the second straight midweek game Grayson Hitt got the start. Samford got on the bored first whe Taylor McManus singled home Garret Howe.
Alabama would get on the scoreboard in the bottom of the third when Sam Praytor was hit by the pitch with bases loaded to even the score at one run each.
The bottom of the 4th would start off well as Alabama got a leadoff walk from Drew Williamson followed by a 2 run home run by Jackson Tate. The next batter Bryce Eblin would reach base on balls prompting Samford coach Casey Dunn to make a pitching change. Andrew Pickney would than be hit by the pitch followed by a walk to Wilson and once again Samford would go to the bullpen. William Hamiter would be walked to bring in another run and Bama would lead 4-1. Zane Denton would follow that up with a 2 RBI single improving Alabama’s lead to 6-1. A wild pitch would make it 7-1 and prompt yet another call to the bullpen. Diodotti would walk followed by a Williamson strikeout and a Jackson Tate walk moving the score to 8-1
Alabama would stay hot in the bottom of the 6th when Sam Praytor led off with his 8th home run of the season making the score 9-1. After a Dio single and a Williamson double a sac fly from Jackson Tate made it 10-1 Bama. Bryce Eblin would keep the hot streak going with a double to left making it 11-1 Bama. A Sac fly from Wilson would add to that making It 12-1. Caden Rose would follow that up with a moon shot homer to left increasing Bama’s lead to 14-1.
Caden Rose would continue his hot day with 2 RBI double in the 7th. After a couple Samford errors Alabama would be leading Samford 19-2 after 7.
Samford would add one big in the 8th after a couple of walks from relief pitcher Eli Giles but that would be it. Alabama would go on to defeat Samford 19-3 on Tuesday night.
Grayson Hitt would go on to get the win moving his record to 2-3 on the season. Billy Creager will get the loss making him 0-1 on the season.
