After an interesting week that saw highly ranked teams look very ordinary, 11Point7 has released their new rankings. A week after ascending to the #1 spot, the Vanderbilt Commodores continue to lead the way, although some may say that this weeks #2 probably deserve that spot a little more. Led by another strong outing by Kumar Rocker and a continuation of Jack Leiter’s no hit streak, Vanderbilt went 4-0 on the week. At #2, the Arkansas Razorbacks. What a week they had, going 5-0, including a 3 game sweep at previously #3 Mississippi State on their own turf inside of Dudy Noble. Jumping 2 spots each into the top 5 are Texas Tech at #4 and Louisville at #5. Ole Miss moves from #4 to #3.
Of note in this poll are Mississippi State falling from #3 all the way to #9 with a 17-7 overall record and a 1-3 week. Florida drops from #5 to #14 after being swept by South Carolina, who comes in at #11 in a nice rebound. Tennessee moves up to #6, surging up from #9 with a home sweep of LSU, who is no longer ranked. Notre Dame enters the top ten at #10. Entering this weeks top 25 from 11Point7 are La Tech at #20, Arizona at #21, and Kentucky, a team most thought would not be very competitive in the SEC, at #25.
