Texas wins Big 12 opener

Texas takes 2 of 3 from Baylor over the weekend. Baylor had a 10 game home win streak coming into the series. Friday night Texas won 5-3. Bottom of the 1st Ty Madden gave up back to back extra base hits Jared McKenzie led off with a double Jack Pineda got a RBI triple. Top of the 2nd Mitchell Daly hits a 2 run double, Mike Antcio draws a walk with bases load Daly scores, then Zach Zubia gets hit by the pitch with bases load Hodo scores 4-1. Top of the 3rd Cam Williams hits a rbi single. Bottom of the 3rd and 8th innings Baylor would gets a couple of runs. Ty Madden gets the win pitching 6.1 innings, gave up 4 hits, allowed 2 runs both of them were earned, walked 3 and striking out 9. Aaron Nixon would get the save pitching 1.1 innings gave up 1 hit allowed no runs and striking out 2.

Saturday Texas won 4-3, Texas got it started in the 1st inning with a Mike Antcio RBI double then Baylor would tie it up at 1. Top of the 4th Cam Williams with a solo homer then Baylor would tie it back up at 2-2. Top of the 6th Texas would take a 4-2 lead off the bat of DJ Petrinksy 2 run single. Baylor would cut it close in the 9th to make it 4-3. Tristan Stevens would get the win pitching 6 innings gave up 7 hits

Sunday Texas loss 11-2 it would be the worst loss this season. Baylor would have a 5-0 lead heading into the 5th inning Cam Williams RBI single then in the 6th Mike Antcio with a sac fly. Bottom of the 7th Baylor adds a 6 run inning to extend the lead 11-2. Kolby Kubichek gets the loss pitched 3.1 innings, gave up 5 hits, allowed 5 runs 3 were earned walked 4 and striking out 1.
