Big 12 Recap From Week 3

Texas Tech traveled to the Shriner Classic. Friday night Braxton Fulford had a pair of 2 run home runs also Cody Masters hit a 3 run homer. Key Hayde came in relief picking up the win, pitching 3 scoreless innings. Tech won 8-4 over Texas State. Saturday they blanked Sam Houston State 8-0. Patrick Monteverde pitched 7 scoreless innings striking out 9 also Cal Conley hit a grand slam. Sunday they won 4-3 over Texas A&M Corpus Christi. Jace Jung hit a 3 run double and Connor McQueen gets the win coming in relief pitching 2 scoreless innings. Texas Tech 8-3 on the season

TCU was also at the Shriner Classic. Friday on a run rule win over Texas A&M Corpus Christi. Zach Humphreys had 4 RBI’s and a home run, also Hunter Wolfe had 2 RBI’s and a home run. Drew Hill came in relief, picked up a win 3.2 innings, allowed no runs, giving up 3 hits on a walk and striking out 2. Saturday another run rule win 10-0 over Texas State. Russell Smith pitched 6 scoreless innings striking out 13. Brayden Taylor and Phillip Sikes both drove in 2 runs. Sunday, TCU lost 6-5 against Sam Houston in extra innings. Hunter Wolfe, Zach Humphreys, and Phillip Sikes each drove in a run. TCU 8-3 on the season.


Oklahoma State hosted Grand Canyon. Friday, Oklahoma State won 11-5. Parker Scott gets the win 6.0 innings, he gave up 1 run on 4 hits and striking out 7. Christian Ecarnacion-Strand hit a 3 run homer. Matt Golda drove in 2 runs. Saturday, Oklahoma State won 3-0 with Justin Wrobleski pitching 7.0 innings, allowed 1 hit striking out 13. Brock Mathis hit a solo homer, and Caeden Trenkle drove in 2 runs. Sunday because of travel curfew final score ended at 4-4. Christian Ecarnacion-Strand hits a 3 run homer and Brock Mathis also had a game tying home run. Bryce Osmond went 5.0 innings giving up 5 hits, allowed 3 earned runs, walked 3, and striking out 6. OSU 9-0-1 on the season.


Baylor hosted Memphis. Friday, Baylor won 5-4. Davion Downey drove in 2 runs, Jared Mckenize, Andy Thomas and Esteban Cardoza-Oquend all drove in a run. Blake Helton gets the win, 4 hits allowed, 2 earned runs, 1 walk, and striking out 6. Luke Boyd picks up the save. Saturday, first game Baylor won 9-0. Tyler Thomas gets the win, pitching 6.0 innings, allowed 2 hits, no runs, walked 3, and striking out 9. Andy Thomas and Jack Pineda both drove in 2 runs. 2nd game, Baylor gets with W, 20-4. Tre Richardson and Davion Downey both drove 3 runs, Jared McKenzie drove in 2, he also hit a home run. Jimmy Winston come in relief gets the win 4.0 innings, allowed 2 hits, 1 walk, and striking out 6. Sunday, another win for Baylor, 8-7. Andy Thomas and Chase Wehsener both drove in 2 runs. Jared McKenzie, Jack Pineda, and Davion Downey each drove in a run. Jacob Ashkinos comes in relief gets the win, 1.1 innings, allowed 1 hit, and striking out 3. Baylor is 7-4 on the season.


OU traveled to the Frisco Classic. Thursday they lost 20-13 to Arizona. Conor McKenna hit a home run and drove in 2. Peyton Graham and Jimmy Cooks both drove in 2 runs, Tyler Hardman drove in 3 runs. Diego Muniz, Tanner Tredaway, Brett Squires, and Brandon Zaragoza each drove in a run. Luke Traggart gets the loss 1.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, 3 earned runs, walking 2, and striking out 1. Friday OU lost to Arizona 12-1. Jimmy Cooks a had RBI double. Wyatt Olds gets the loss 4.0 innings, allowed 6 hits, giving up 6 earned runs, walking 4, and striking out 6. Saturday OU won 16-6 over Mizzou. Tanner Tredaway and Brett Squires both drove in 4 runs. Brandon Zaragoza drove in 3 runs. Peyton Graham and Conor McKenna both drove in 1 run. Sunday they came up short and lost 9-3 to Dallas Baptist. Petyon Graham and Brandon Zaragoza each drove in a run. Jake Bennett gets the loss in 4.0 innings, allowed 7 hits, giving up 9 earned runs, walked 2, and striking out 6. OU 5-6 on the season.


Texas traveled to Houston. Friday, Texas gets the win 1-0 with Ty Madden pitching 9.0 innings, allowed 2 hits, giving up no runs, walked 2, and striking out 14. Trey Faltine earned an RBI on an intentional with with bases loaded. Saturday Texas lost 3-2 in 11 innings. Austin Todd and Eric Kennedy both drove in one run. Aaron Nixon comes in relief gets the loss, pitching 2.1 innings, allowed 3 hits, giving up 1 earned run, and striking out 5. Sunday Texas won 8-2. Trey Faltine drove in 2 runs and also had a home run. Austin Todd, Mike Antico, Zach Zubia, and Cam Williams each drove in a run. Kolby Kubichek gets the win pitching 6.0 innings, allowed 5 hits, giving up 2 runs, walked 2, and striking out 9. Texas 7-5 on the season.

Kansas State hosted Eastern Illinois. Friday KS won 6-3. Zach Kokoska drove in 2 runs and also hit a home run. Dylan Phillips and Chris Ceballos both drove in 2 runs. Jordan Wicks pitched 6.0 innings,allowed 5 hits, and striking out 8. Saturday KS lost 6-5. Kamron Willman had a 3 run homer. Zach Kokoska and Dylan Phillips both drove in 1 run. Carson Seymour gets the loss, pitching 5.0 innings, allowed 6 hits, giving up 6 runs, 3 earned runs, walkking 2, and striking out 2. Sunday KS lost 14-7. Cameron Thompson and Zach Kokoska both hit solo home runs. Nick Goodwin hit a 2 run homer. Dylan Phillips, Chris Ceballos and Kameron Willman drove in run. Tyler Eckberg gets the loss coming in relief pitching 0.1 innings, allowed 4 hits, and giving up 4 earned runs. Kansas St 6-4 on the season


Kansas travel to St Louis. Friday Kansas lost 8-1. Tom Lichty drove in a run. Ryan Cyr gets the loss pitching 5.1 innings, allowed 10 hits, giving up 5 runs, 4 earned runs, walking 2, and striking out 9. On Saturday, Kansas won 5-1. With Nolan Metcalf driving in 2 runs. Anthony Tulimero, Logan Williams, and Blaine Ray each drove in 1 run. Cole Larsen gets the win, going 7.0 innings, allowed 5 hits, gave up 1 run, walking 4, and striking out 8. Sunday Kansas gets the win 7-5, in extra innings. Dylan Ditzenberger, Anthony Tulimero, Jack Wanger, and Tavin Josenberger each drove in 1 run. Daniel Hegarty comes in relief and gets the win in 4.1 innings, allowed 2 hits, walking 1, and striking out 5. Kansas 5-5 on the year. 

WVU series was cancelled due to Covid.
