Texas Wins Home Opener

Texas starts a 4 game series with BYU looking to snap a 0-3 start in the early season. After 2 scoreless innings bottom of the 3rd Cam Williams jacks a solo shot to dead center off the green monster Texas takes a 1-0 lead after that Mike Antico hits a bomb foul it was close to a home run they review to make sure after review they called it foul but Coach Pierce had some words with 3rd base ump he tossed him. It was scoreless until the 8th inning Austin Deming for BYU ties it up at 1-1 off of Cole Quintanilla. Bottom of the 8th Mike Antcio clutch 2 run single gives Texas a 3-1 lead. Tanner Witt comes in and shuts the door on BYU for the save.

Easton Walker pitched a heck of game for BYU 7.1 innings pitch allowing 1 run 1 earned run giving up 3 hits no walks striking out 4. BYU defense was solid made some great plays.

Texas offense looked a lot better tonight then what you saw in Arlington. They looked more patience at the plate and they were hitting the ball hard tonight. They looked more confident and comfortable.

Cam Williams went 2-3 hit his 2nd home run and a double. Ivan Melendez went 1-3. Mike Antcio 1-4 2RBI.

Texas starter Pete Hasen was solid in 3 innings of work allowing no runs didn’t give up a hit walking 2 and striking out 2.

First pitch tomorrow at 1. Hook’em🤘🏻🐂
