Texas falls to Miss St 8-3 in the first game of the State Farm College Baseball Showdown in Arlington, Texas. Texas Pitcher Ty Madden was off to a good start striking out the side in the top of the 1st then bottom of the 1st Texas had a bunt single from Eric Kennedy that was it for the 1st.
Top of the 2nd inning Miss St bats got hot. Madden walked Hancock then Dubrule singled up the middle Hancock advancing to 3rd. Landon Jordan base hit up the middle scoring Hancock then McGrown RBI singled up the middle Dubrule scored. Miss State leads 2-0. Miss St Pitcher MacLeod was perfect in the 2nd.
Top 3rd Madden got the 3 up 3 down. Bottom 3rd Austin singled to center. Eric Kenndy strikes out to end the inning.

Ty Madden day was done after four innings of work 4 runs 3 earned runs, giving up 4 hits walking 3 striking out 5. Pete Hansen came on into relief. 5th inning Hancock RBI singled to Center Allen scores to make it 5-0. Bottom 5th Texas got it going with Ivan Melendez 1st Career home run as a Longhorn then Cam Williams double, Silas Ardoin infield hit, then Murphy Stehly got a base hit to load the bases. Christian MacCleod day was done 4.0 innings 1 run 1 earned run giving up 6 hits striking out 7. Landon Sims takes over strikes out the side. 5-1 Miss St.
Top of the 6th Miss St adds another run to make 6-1 on Rowdey Jordan fielder choice. Miss St adds 2 more runs in the 8th Rowdey Jordan’s solo homer and Hatcher RBI double. Sims was perfect coming into the relief for the Bulldogs four innings of work striking out 10. Miss st goes in order in the 9th.
