About the author: Kincaid took his talents to Boone in 2011, where he played four seasons with the Mountaineers. The former dual-sport athlete out of Charlotte Christian redshirted his freshman year, but played for App State until he graduated in 2014. Today, Kincaid actively roots on his Mountaineers from Charleston, where he works in the Real Estate business on construction financials and resides with his girlfriend. Kincaid enjoys watching baseball and other sports while often enjoying a well-poured brew.
After 15 straight away games to start the season, the Mountaineers return home for their first game at “The Beav” with the hottest looking field turf around.
The ‘Neers have turned it a new leaf as of late, winning their past 6 of 7 after leaving the state of Kentucky. That series in the whiskey capital of the nation was a heartbreak after losing big on Saturday and then in extras on Sunday.
App seems to have found a solid starting rotation from JUCO transfers and a solid closer in Jack Hartman. This Greckel kid looks to be the real deal at the plate with an OBP of almost .500. Drumheller has been himself, racking up hits everyday, following up a season with an average well above .300. Look for the ‘Neers to keep the momentum rolling this week as they make their way back up the mountain for their first game at home today against Siena!
Coach Kermit has the program headed in the right direction and the team hyped for conference play, amidst an intriguing upcoming conference season in the Sun Belt.
This is John Kincaid, former App State baseball legend, signing off. Until next time. Go ‘Neers!
