
Baton Rouge, LA – Despite another strong outing from starter Cole Henry LSU dropped it’s second game to a set of Colonels in as many games. After losing a midweek game to the Colonels of Nicholas State the Tigers lost their Friday night game to the Colonels of EKU.
LSU stater Cole Henry (1-1) pitched 5.0 innings and allowed 2 runs on 3 hits while striking out 3. The LSU bats could not get it going Friday night. Only managing 3 hits and 0 runs all night. LSU did have another dominate performance by reliever Jaden Hill. Hill pitched 2.2 inning and struck out 5 batters while allowing only 1 hit.
LSU was able to even the series in Game 2. Lead by an outstanding performance from starter Landon Marceaux (1-0) the Tigers cruised to a 6-3 win. Marceaux fired 8.0 innings of scoreless work with 6 Ks. LSU was finally able to their bats going as they had RBIs from Milazzo (1) Cabrera (2) and Beloso (3).
Going into the rubber match LSU trotted out starter A. J. Labas (1-1) who fired 6.0 scoreless innings while the LSU bats erupted for 10 runs in the first 4 innings to take the series. With the win LSU improved to 5-3 on the year. LSU returns to action this Wednesday against Louisiana Tech at 6:30pm CST in Baton Rouge, LA.
